Brief Introduction

I am a fully qualified Counsellor with an educational background in Bachelor of Arts-Psychology and a Graduate Diploma of Counselling. My passion is being apart of someone's positive shift toward a more fulfilling and happier life. I hold particular interest in working with people to overcome stress, anxiety, depression and anger so they can go on enjoying their wonderful life's journey without the set backs.

How I work

I am warm and professional counsellor with extensive experience of providing counselling support. I have primarily worked with  clients in the private sector. I have worked in a range of settings with children, adolescents and adults. I use an integrated person-centred approach to her counselling to support my clients through a range of difficulties.

I am an understanding and non-judgmental counsellor who is passionate about helping my clients discover their full potential and overcome presenting challenges they may be experiencing.

I am committed to offering a warm and safe space for my clients to feel comfortable and to develop a trusting and positive relationship with me, which I believe is the important foundation for change to take place.

My clients are able to gain insight to their circumstances and I assist them as a supportive guide to empower them to realise this. It is through a self-discovery process that my clients experience an uplifting and meaningful counselling process.

A few things about me personally..

I’m a lover of life, nature, the beach and hanging out with loved ones. I think the secret to an enjoyable life is having a good support system, being mindful in the day to day events of life and bring grateful for what we already have in our lives. I believe in order to live by these things, we need to have a healthy mental state.

I believe my life experiences, knowledge base and skills were developed over time to serve and help others in achieving a positive mental state so they too can lead a positive life.

Why did I choose counselling as my career?

When I was a young teen, I was timid, dealt with anxiety and low moods as well as anger and frustration.

As time went by, I didn’t get much support. I eventually over came everything mostly all on my own with a strong intention to be a better version of myself. I wish I had gotten some support through counselling earlier! Perhaps that’s where my passion stems from.

My passion in wanting to empower people especially those in their younger years to overcome whatever obstacle or bump in the road they’re facing or feeling as early on as possible to truly enjoy their life and feel fulfilled in their journey.

Why did I start Empower You Counselling?

I know there are people out there who really want to improve their relationships, their mental, physical and emotional states and have that locked potential (as every human being does), where, with the right counselling can do and feel wonderful things.

I am also aware that parent's play a major part in a young person's life and find it so important that they have a strong role model growing up, hence why I have incorporated parent coaching into my counselling service.

Therapeutic Approaches

I tailor each session with my clients through understanding their personal needs and goals. I incorporate various contemporary models of counselling into my practice, including: Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy, A Trauma Informed Approach, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy and Meditation.

I will use my knowledge and understandings of you and your situation to choose the best approaches that fits you the best.
